 THE  PUBLISHER’S HISTORY

THE PUBLISHING COMPANY WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1982, TAKING IT’S NAME FROM IT’S FOUNDER FRANCO DI MAURO.  
THE FIRST STEPS IN THE PUBLISHING TRADE  WERE IMMEDIATELY MET WITH SUCCESS, THE BOOKS SOLD EXTREMELY WELL. EVEN THE VOLUMES WHICH REGARDED THE NEAPOLITAN HISTORY AND TRADITIONS BECAME BEST-SELLERS IN ONLY A FEW MONTHS FROM THEIR PUBLICATION.   

THANKS TO INTELLIGENT CHOICES  MADE  IN THE PUBLISHING OF THE BOOKS ECONOMIC STABILITY FOLLOWED ,  AFTERWARDS  THE PUBLISHER’S  BEGAN TO PRODUCE  A VALUABLE  CULTURAL CATALOGUE WITH THE  COLLECTIONS : “COCUMELLA”, “COCUMELLA ARTE” AND “NEAPOLITANA ELEGANS”, RECEIVING UNANIMOUS ACCLAIM FROM ALL OFFICIAL CRITICS.   
IN 1998  THE COLLECTION “THE NEAPOLITAN CRIB IN THE WORLD” WAS PRINTED.  
IT’S BEEN SINCE 1993 THAT THE PUBLISHER’S HAVE CONCENTRATED THEIR ATTENTION  TO FOLIO VOLUMES, PRINTED IN LIMITED NUMBERS ,  WHICH INCLUDE THE REPRINT OF “NAPLES IN ANCIENT TIMES” BY RAFFAELE D’AMBRA AND “PARTY COSTUMES” BY LUIGI MARTA.   
IN JULY 1994 THE  VOLUME “VESUVIUS”  WAS PUBLISHED IN A LIMITED NUMBER, HAVING AS SUBJECT THE MOST FAMOUS VOLCANO IN THE WORLD. THE BOOK EDITED BY ATANASIO MOZZILLO WAS DEDICATED TO THE PARTICIPANTS OF THE G 7 CONFERENCE HELD IN NAPLES.
IN DECEMBER 1995 “CAMPI FLEGREI”, EDITED BY GIANCARLO ALISIO WAS PUBLISHED. VOLCANOLOGY, GEOLOGY, ARCHEOLOGY, ART, HISTORY, LITERATURE, MYTHOLOGY, ARCHITECTURE, AND GUIDE, THESE ARE THE SUBJECTS ENTRUSTED TO EMINENT SPECIALISTS OF THEIR  RESPECTIVE ARGUMENTS AMONG WHOM  ARE :  ATANASIO MOZZILLO, CESARE  DE SETA, STEFANO DE CARO, CARLO KNIGHT, VALTER PINTO, MARCELLO GIGANTE, COSTANZA GIALANELLA, SALVATORE DI LIELLO, PAOLO GASPARINI, PAOLO APOLITO, STEFANO DE MATTEIS,  FRANCESCO STARACE.   
DECEMBER 1997 WAS GREETED WITH GREAT ENTHUSIASM BY THE OFFICIAL CRITICS FOR THE FOLIO VOLUME, ONCE AGAIN PRINTED IN A LIMITED NUMBER OF COPIES ,CALLED “THE NEAPOLITAN CRIB”. A BOOK DESTINED TO REMAIN IN THE HISTORY OF ITALIAN PUBLISHING, CONTAINING 176 COLOUR PLATES , 130 BLACK AND WHITE  ILLUSTRATIONS WITH  TEXTS BY NICOLA SPINOSA, ANGELA CATELLA, ATANASIO MOZZILLO, CORRADO CATELLO, ANGELA CAROLA PERROTTI, STEFANO DE MATTEIS, PAOLO IPPOLITO, RENATO RUOTOLO, UMBERTO GRILLO, VINCENZO RIZZO. PHOTOGRAPHS BY : GIUSEPPE GAETA.  
IN MAY 1999 IN OCCASION OF THE BI-CENTENARY  OF THE NEAPOLITAN REVOLUTION, OUR PUBLISHER’S  PRINTED “NAPLES 1799” EDITED BY ROBERTO  DE SIMONE  WITH TEXTS BY: ANNAMARIA RAO, NICOLA SPINOSA, DOMENICO AMBRASI, RENATA MAIONE, FRANCESCO MELISI, FRANCO MANCINI, MARINA MEYRHOFER, EMMA GIAMMATTEI.
